STERLING - Joan S. (Sibley) Lanciani, 87, passed away peacefully under the loving care of her family and staff at the Dodge Park Rest Home on Thursday, October 26, 2017. She was born in Winchendon, the daughter of Robert and Marion (Handren) Sibley and had lived in Sterling for 55 years. She was raised in Athol and graduated Athol High School. Joan was a former member of Oakdale United Methodist Church in West Boylston. She was a talented artist and painter, enjoyed cooking and excelled with all kinds of crafts including quilting, knitting, crocheting and rug braiding. Her husband of 55 years, Thomas Joseph Lanciani, died on June 27, 2015. She leaves her daughters, Lori L. Mosby and her husband, Mark of Worcester and Arlene J. Lanciani of Chelmsford; three grandchildren, Noah Mosby, Thomas Marge and Anthony Marge. A brother, Robert Sibley III predeceased her. A grandson, Nathan Mosby, passed away in 2012. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joan's family on Monday, October 30, from 10 to 11a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A private committal service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leominster Art Assoc., P.O.
