Rutland

RUTLAND – John P. Boxshus, Jr. of Rutland passed away peacefully at UMass Memorial Medical Center on July 29, 2025. John was born and raised in Worcester, the son of the late John “Jack” P. Boxshus, Sr. and Norida J. (Krill) Boxshus.

In John’s younger years he enjoyed spending summers on the beach on Cape Cod, playing Little League Baseball, and landscaping the family’s home. John attended St. Peter Marian High School and Worcester State College majoring in Business Administration and Management.

John’s passion for cars led him to a 40-year career with Lamoureux Ford in North Brookfield, MA where he retired as the Sales Manager. He loved his work and had a vast knowledge of all brands and models of cars. John had the ability to take the stress out of buying a car and make it an experience you would not soon forget. John was known for his kindness and generosity, always thinking of others and giving up his time to help friends and customers.

John leaves behind a sister Nancy A. Stone; brother-in-law Christopher M. Stone; two nieces, Brittany Stone Huffstetler and Tory Stone; three nephews, Tyler C. Stone, Cameron Stone, and Graylan Stone; and several cousins.

John also leaves behind many dear friends and acquaintances. John was especially grateful for the love and companionship provided by Steve Bedard and family, Robin Levitsky, and Diane Perry. Barbara Randall also held a special place in his heart.

John was predeceased by his father John “Jack” P. Boxshus, Sr., his mother Norida J. (Krill) Boxshus, his brother Mark P. Boxshus, and his stepmother Aldona (Lukshis) Daly-Boxshus.

John will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched in so many ways.
