HOLDEN – John "Jack" E. Lindberg, 81, beloved husband of Doris A. (Coffey) Lindberg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester. Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of John and Helen (Provost) Lindberg.
Jack was a graduate of South High School and received an associate's degree from Worcester Junior College. Jack went on to further his education by earning a bachelor’s degree from Clark University and a master’s degree in business administration from Anna Maria College. He was a dedicated employee of Allmerica Financial for over thirty years where he held a managerial position. In his younger years, Jack was initiated into the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows.
He was a member of the Greendale Retired Men’s Club and the Holden Senior Center. Jack was also a member and transportation coordinator for the Holden Council on Aging where he enjoyed driving the van to provide transportation services to the local seniors. Jack loved classic country music and he was an avid fisherman. In his spare time he could often be found playing cards with friends, hiking and traveling.
Jack will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 59 years, Doris; his son, John M. Lindberg and his wife, Lynda of Holden; his daughter, Kristina H. Waid of Orange; six grandchildren, Sara, Jeffrey, Brian, Joshua, Katrina Barnes and her husband, Chad and Nicholas Ringgard and his wife, Logan; three great grandchildren, Jonathan, Shyla and Carly; his sister, Jill Beck and her husband, Robert of CT; his aunt, Joyce Riopel; and several cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Odd Fellows Home and to the Trinity Hospice caregivers for the kind and compassionate care they provided during Jack’s illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Jack’s family from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in the springtime at Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
