RUTLAND – John Anthony Rabidou, 31, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA.
Born in Worcester and raised in Rutland, John was the cherished son of Steven A. Rabidou and Christine A. (Hunt) Rabidou. He attended Rutland Public Schools and was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School.
John was employed by Thermo Fisher Scientific in Plainville, MA. He was known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature where he made several meaningful friendships.
Above all, John loved his family and friends. He shared a close bond with his parents, sister, and treasured niece, Elena, the apple of his eye. John had a loyal group of friends and spent a lot of time together. John approached life with an enthusiastic and adventurous spirit.
John was a great enthusiast of competitive sports and games, and he especially enjoyed golfing, achieving his first ever hole in one two years ago. He excelled in youth sports, including basketball, football, soccer, and baseball as a pitcher and catcher. He loved the beach and spent his childhood summers in Wells, Maine. John had a fantastic sense of humor, a quick wit and many great impressions. He had a sensitive, kind heart for everyone in his life.
John will be deeply missed by his parents, Steven A. Rabidou of Bellingham, MA and Christine A. (Hunt) Rabidou of Rutland, MA; his sister, Jennifer A. (Rabidou) Streeter and her husband, Scott, and his niece, Elena M. Streeter of Phillipston, MA; his uncles, James M. Hunt and his wife, Andrea; Peter L. Hunt and his wife, Judy; his cousins, Kathleen, James, Matthew, and Jason Hunt; his step-siblings, Michael, Paul, Elizabeth Dwelly, and Amanda Nickerson; his best friends, Tom, James, Yoann, Aidan, Mitch, and Veda – all of whom held a special place in his heart. He will be fondly remembered by many extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to gather with John's family during a period of Calling Hours on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Funeral Service celebrating John's life will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately.
