WORCESTER – Josephine M. (Grensavitch) White, 93, of Worcester died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 in the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester, after an illness.
Her husband of 48 years, Edgar J. White, died in 1985. She leaves two daughters, Cynthia A. Sestito of Grafton and Beverly F. Leveillee of Rutland; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A daughter, Valerie A. Giorgio, died in 2007. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Adolph Grensavitch, and two sisters, Antoinette Chiras and Beatrice Evans. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Paul and Anna (Gauzauskas) Grensavitch, and lived most of her life in Worcester.
Mrs. White graduated from Worcester Girls Trade. She was a cook at the former Newton Manor Nursing Home where she worked for several years. Previously she was a waitress at the V.F.W. on Ballard St. in Worcester. She was a member of Christ the King Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to a calling hour from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 21st, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 21st, in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Activities Fund of the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
