RUTLAND - Karen (Jacobson) Wyman, 83, of Rutland, died unexpectedly at home on May 12, 2026.
Karen was born July 4, 1942 in Worcester, daughter of George Arthur and Katherine (Kelly) Jacobson. She was a 1959 graduate of Leicester High School and a 1961 graduate of New England School of Accounting. She lived for 40 years in Leicester. In 1984 she moved to Holden where she spent 31 years before moving to Rutland in 2015.
Karen worked for several years as an accountant before becoming a loving stay at home mother. Later in life Karen obtained her real estate license and worked for both Coldwell Banker in Worcester and McManus Associates in Holden.
Karen was also an accomplished novelist, publishing 2 novels, No Ordinary Love and The Chandler Agenda. Karen was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the PGA.
Above all, her most cherished role was that of mother and grandmother. She doted on her kids and grandkids, and will be remembered for the countless sleepovers, movies, vacations, shopping trips, sports games, and family celebrations she spent with them.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her daughters, Brenda Bachant and her husband David, of Rutland; Kristi Turgeon and her husband James, of Paxton; two grandsons, Benjamin Bachant and his wife Katherine, of Rutland and Brian Bachant, of Jefferson; three granddaughters, Jordan Turgeon of Worcester, Sarah Turgeon of Spencer, and Jamie Turgeon of Paxton; and two great grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Bachant, of Rutland. She also leaves her sister, Sandra Heeps of Boynton Beach, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two infant sons, Kenneth and Jeffrey Wyman, and an infant daughter, Sharon Wyman.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, services and burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association at heart.org.
