HOLDEN – Kenneth C. Olson, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Holden Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Carl A. and Alice V. (Skarberg) Olson.
After graduating from Commerce high school, Ken served his country in the National Guard for 8 years. He went on to work at the family business, the Goodwill Laundry in Worcester, before finding his true passion as a truck driver and spending the rest of his career on the road.
He met the love of his life, Marion Thyberg, and they got married in 1956 and raised their family in Worcester.
In his spare time, he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He could be found taking care of various projects over the years around his house. He was selfless in nature, where for years he donated blood to the Red Cross. He was a longtime former member of Bethlehem Covenant Church in Worcester where he was active in the choir and building maintenance committee from the 60’s through the 80’s. He was also a long-time active member of the Freemason’s Athelstan Lodge.
He is survived by his sons, Greg Olson and his wife, Jessica of Holden, Glen Olson and his wife, Kyoko of Glendale, AZ; 4 grandchildren, Kenny, Andrew, Kevin, and Sarah; and 2 great-grandchildren, Timmy and Connor.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Marion Olson; his longtime partner, Carolyn Graham; his son, Gary Olson; 2 brothers, Al Olson and Lloyd Olson; and 2 sisters, Phyllis Kelliher and Shirley Larson.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ken’s family from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 12, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at All Faith’s Cemetery, 9 Island Rd., Worcester.
