Kim Ciociolo Walters

May 19, 1957 — April 11, 2026

WEST BOYLSTON/WORCESTER - Kim Ciociolo Walters strived for a life of respect and truth. She was intelligent and extremely thoughtful. Her kind-hearted ways positively impacted those around her. She loved to cook, write, and practice introspection.

Born in 1957 to Doris L. Ciociolo and Rocco B. Ciociolo, Kim grew up in West Boylston as the youngest of six girls. She graduated from West Boylston Senior High School in 1975. After earning an associate’s degree at Quinsigamond Community College, Kim studied at Assumption College (now Assumption University). In 1993, Kim graduated with honors from University of North Carolina-Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Kim married the love of her life, Jim Walters, in 1982. They started a family, raising two children in North Carolina, where Kim enjoyed the natural beauty but not the humidity.

She was a hard worker. As a teenager, she worked at her dad’s business, Rocky’s Oil in Worcester, where she first developed great accounting skills. In Greensboro, she performed administrative and accountant work for Yellow Freight. She also worked for Community Healthlink in Worcester for over a decade doing bookkeeping and, later, direct care health services. Her peer support work with the Respite program was the high point of her working life. Kim was honored to contribute to the helping services, as a humble beneficiary of pivotal Massachusetts and federal support services herself.

In 1995, Kim permanently moved back to Worcester. Her devoted sisters, Sherron Ciociolo Carson and Lana Ciociolo-Hinkell, were instrumental in Kim regaining her footing in life. Kim drew security and safety from their unconditional love.

Kim passed away at home on April 11, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

She loved and leaves her children, Niles Walters and Kyla Walters Doughty, and their spouses, Ann Walters and Derek Doughty; her grandchildren, Takoda Walters, Kinley Walters, and A. Doughty; her sisters, Sherron Ciociolo Carson, Lana Ciociolo-Hinkell and her husband Patrick Ciociolo-Hinkell, Dori Ciociolo, Patricia Ciociolo (deceased), and Lynn Ciociolo (deceased); her nieces and nephews, Lana Nicole Schorer, Jeremy Borjeson, Chelsea Magallanes-Klein, Shayna Klein (deceased), Kathy Liberty, Nicholas Powers, Tracey Carson Quong, and Todd Carson (deceased); her extended relatives in the Ciociolo and Andrews families; her friends, especially Mark; and her cat, Grayson. Kim will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service honoring her life at 11:00 am on Friday, April 17, at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Church St., West Boylston.
