SPENCER – Ladd S. “Tiger” Ljungberg, 66, passed away at home on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born in Marblehead and raised in Holden, he was the son of the late David and Nancy (Plumley) Ljungberg.
Tiger was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, Class of ’77. He went on to further his education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He enjoyed a long career as Director of Sales and Catering for several hotel chains across the country including Marriott, Radisson and Affinia Manhattan, making many friends along the way.
He could often be found listening to his favorite bands such as the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac and would have loved to tour with the Grateful Dead if he could sing on key. Family and neighbors knew when he was driving home because of the music blaring from the car radio. He loved to cook, and prepared meals that could feed an army with only four people in the house. Tiger enjoyed cheering on New England sports teams while also cursing them if they lost. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, especially at the Cape or Lake Winnipesaukee. His fun-loving personality and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his three children, Michael Ljungberg of Medford, Ryan Ljungberg of Redding, CT and Kelly Ljungberg of Westminster, CO; his two brothers, Jon Ljungberg of Winnipeg, Canada and Nils Ljungberg and his wife, Karen of Charlton; his sister, Arline Mackay of Rutland; his grandchildren, Alexander and Aidan Oaks; many nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; cousins; his uncle and many lifelong friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Rick Ljungberg and his brother-in-law, Scott Mackay.
Arrangements are private and under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Tunnels to Towers - https://t2t.org/.
