Lawrence P. Storm

May 19, 1930 — December 20, 2013

RUTLAND – Lawrence P. Storm, 83, a resident of Rutland since 1960, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester after an illness. He was born in Presque Isle, Maine, the son of Anton L. and Ida W. (Shean) Storm and graduated from Caribou High School.

He leaves his loving wife of 61 years, Mona E. (Smith) Storm; a son, Lawrence P. Storm and his wife Patti of Export, PA; two daughters, Diane L. Gamache and her husband Ken of Upton and Linda J. Storm of Scituate; three grandchildren, Christopher and Kelly Gamache and Benjamin Storm; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Jack Jewell.

Lawrence was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and the Boy Scouts of America Council in Rutland. He was a member and past master of the Rufus Putnam Lodge of Masons in Rutland. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Worcester including; the Worcester Lodge of Perfection, Goddard Council, Prince of Jerusalem, the Lawrence Chapter of Rose Croix and the Springfield Consistory. He also was a member of the Melha Temple Shrine in Springfield and the Cradle Rock Chapter 125 Order of the Eastern Star in Barre. Lawrence enjoyed fly fishing in Northern Maine and loved to spend time with his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral services for Lawrence will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 264 Main Street, Rutland. A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, P.O. Box 484, Rutland, MA 01543.
