WILDWOOD, FL/HOLDEN – Leon “Lee” E. Whitney, Jr., 89, formerly of Brentwood Drive in Holden, passed away in Florida on August 18, 2018.
His wife of 50 years, Evelyne (Witzel) Whitney, passed away on January 2, 2007. He was born in Athol, the son of Leon E. and Bessie M. (Hoyle) Whitey and had lived in Northborough and Holden before moving to Florida in 2008. He served his country and was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in Germany.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Bosler Humane Society, P.O. Box 12, Baldwinville, MA 01436. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
