Linda Ann Besnia Turcotte
January 26, 1960 — April 20, 2013
LEOMINSTER - Linda Ann Besnia Turcotte, age 53 of Leominster, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 20, 2013. She was the daughter of Howard Besnia and the late Shirley (Dalgliesh) Besnia.
Linda attended Sterling elementary schools and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Fitchburg State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services. She worked as a licensed social worker and then as a certified home health aide for the elderly and disabled in Leominster for the last 18 years. Linda had also worked as a certified E.M.T. for the Princeton Rescue Squad.
Conversations were Linda’s happiness. Whether it was a visit or just spending time on the phone, she loved talking with all her close friends and family every day. She enjoyed taking long walks in her neighborhood on French Hill. She was an avid advocate for the mentally disabled as well as the elderly. She attended the Evangelical Congregational Church in Lancaster where she was a member of the women’s visiting ministry.
Linda is survived by her father, Howard Besnia of Sterling; her three brothers and their wives, David and Deanne of Leominster, Kenneth and Deborah of Santa Rosa, CA, and Mark and Mary-Ann of Franklin; and many close friends including her Turcotte “family”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26, in the Evangelical Congregational Church, 793 Main St., Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Michele Dilley, 44 Bearfoot Road, Northborough, MA 01532.
