Lois A. (Wennerstrand) Dahlin

Holden – Lois A. (Wennerstrand) Dahlin, 86, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Thursday, August 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Lois leaves her beloved husband of 62 years, Richard A. Dahlin; her daughter Laurie; her son Steven; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Anton and Alma (Granlund) Wennerstrand, two brothers, George and Paul Wennerstrand and three sisters, Evelyn Anderson, Mildred Carlson, and June Eklund.

Lois graduated from South High School in Worcester and Worcester State Teachers College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Education. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden, the Women’s Circle, served as part of the alter team and was always there to volunteer at church luncheons, and to help with the church paper.

Lois taught second grade for several years before staying at home and taking care of her family. As time passed, her love of teaching and caring for children brought her to Immanuel Lutheran Nursery School where she taught for 22 years.

Lois loved her family’s winter vacations in Siesta Key Florida, and summers in Kennebunk and Wells Maine. After retiring Lois enjoyed traveling with her husband Richard on many trips all over the country. She enjoyed walking, keeping active, reading, doing crosswords puzzles, and knitting baby hats for local hospitals, but most of all she loved her Swedish traditions and the times of doing “whatever” with her family and friends.

Her family would like to thank the staff at The Oasis at Dodge Park for their care, kindness, compassion, and love they showed Lois during her final weeks.
