PAXTON - Loretta J. (Nasse) Peters of Paxton, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 under the loving care of her family and staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a 19 year illness.
She is survived by her husband, R. Norman Peters; her son, Jeffrey N. Peters and his wife, Sara Martin of West Sacramento, California; her daughter; Deborah S. LeBlanc and her husband, Donald of Paxton; three grandchildren, Emma and Leah LeBlanc of Paxton and Carson Peters of West Sacramento, California; her brothers, John and Robert Nasse of Rochester, New York; her sister-in-law, Nancy Dhoku of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a nephew, Christopher Dhoku of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Loretta was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of immigrant Albanian parents, Theodore and Vasilika Shuka Nasse. At an early age, the family moved to Rochester, New York to be near other family members. She attended Brighton High School and Rochester Business Institute. She was employed as an Executive Assistant at The Stromberg Carlson Co. and General Dynamic Corp. where she served on the Executive Staff. In 1969 she married her husband, R. Norman Peters and migrated and made Worcester and Paxton her adopted homes. She met Norman while she was a member of the Albanian American National Organization, Inc. (AANO) serving as National Secretary of the Organization and Norman was serving as National President.
She adapted well to her new home city of Worcester and serving on the staff of the City Manager, Francis J. McGrath in the law enforcement division. Upon her retirement to raise her two children, she procured her real estate license and sold condominium units on the conversion into condominiums at 80 Salisbury Street in Worcester and various other real estate projects.
She played a major role with her husband in the design and construction of their home in Paxton and also the same role in their home on Great Island, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family on many vacations. She enjoyed the family visits to their vacation homes in Guilford, New Hampshire, Great Island, Cape Cod and their condo in Naples, Florida. She was a current member of the Saint Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and formerly of the St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She loved life but unfortunately her illness deprived her of the opportunity to cherish her grandchildren and other life experiences. She valued her family above anything else.
Loretta loved her cat, Reilly and had a passion for walking miles every day prior to her handicap by her illness. She always feared the day when she wouldn't be able to walk each day and enjoy the serenity of life outdoors. She enjoyed all the old time movie classics, watching the American Movie Classics but also accumulating a vast collection of those classics in her movie library.
She was very fond of music and played the piano in her home. She encouraged both of her children to study and enjoy music devoting great effort that her children be accomplished musicians.
