SHREWSBURY - Marci Jill Rubin (née Dollin), of Shrewsbury, formerly of Peabody, passed away peacefully on July 30th at the age of 54 after a very brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jordan; her beloved children, Aidan and Hannah; and her cherished dog, Georgia. She is the daughter of her loving mother, Paula Dollin of Peabody and the late Arnold Dollin. She is also survived by her brother, Eric Dollin and his wife Kate, both of Peabody; her brother-in-law, Blake Rubin of Worcester; sister-in-law, Lorraine Rubin of Holden, and her nieces and nephews, Aaron, Caleb, Jonathan, Eliza, and Jaclyn.
Marci was a devoted elementary school teacher for more than 25 years, most recently in Shrewsbury, where she primarily taught second grade beginning in 2010. Her warmth, dedication, and commitment to being the very best educator touched the lives of hundreds of students and families throughout the community.
Those who knew and loved Marci will remember her happy place was in South Yarmouth on Cape Cod, sitting at Smugglers Beach with a chair, a good book, and no umbrella. She was a loving mother, wife, aunt, and friend whose kindness, presence and wit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Marci loved her weekly date nights with Jordan and their many getaways. She was also happiest simply spending time with her children and mom doing the regular things we call living life or giving Georgia lots of belly rubs.
Marci’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at UMass for their care and compassion.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3rd at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Please visit https://emanuelsinai.org/live-streams/ to view the livestream of the service.
