Charlton - Margaret J. Wissell, 89, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026. She is the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Wissell with whom she would have shared 62 years of marriage before predeceasing her in 2024. She is also predeceased by her sister Mary (Wesner) Lenyo.
Born in Spangler, Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of Isadore and Emma (Smith) Wesner. She proudly graduated from Seton Hill College with a bachelor's degree and taught as an elementary school teacher for many years at Chaffins School in Holden. Upon retirement, she continued her passion to educate by substitute teaching and helping children in all ways that she could. Margaret was a skilled piano player and enjoyed listening to music. She is also a longtime member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester.
Margaret leaves behind her two sons, Rev. Matthew Wissell and his wife Amy of Milford, NH, and Edward Wissell and his wife Kimberly of Whitinsville; her brother Dr. Jack C. Wesner; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, July 28th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or adoptaclassroom.org.
