Marian S. (Bachman) Sottak

HOLDEN – Marian S. (Bachman) Sottak, 90, of 25 Fairchild Drive, died at home on Wednesday, February 9, 2005.
Her husband of 63 years, Sherman E. Sottak Sr., died in 2002. She leaves her son, Sherman E. Sottak Jr. and his wife Jane M. of Carver; a daughter, Linda V. Demkoski of Lancaster; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces and nephews. She was born in New Bedford, daughter of Richard and Anna (Zimmerman) Bachman.
Mrs. Sottak worked as a Cafeteria Manager for the Holden Public School system for many years. Previously, she worked as a pastry chef in the New Bedford area. She was a member of the Chaffin Congregational Church and its Mary Martha Circle. She enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, crocheting and making wedding cakes. She also loved animals.
The funeral service for Mrs. Sottak will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 14, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520; or to the UMass Memorial Hospice, P.O. Box 2795, 650 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
