Biography
STERLING/HILLCREST, NY - Marie (Miller) Foster, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2015, at Sterling Village in Sterling, MA. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York, Marie was the daughter of Thomas J. and Estelle C.E. (Rockefeller) Miller and lived thirty years in Hillcrest, NY and several years in Rockledge, FL before moving to Sterling, MA in 2010.
Her husband, Robert Foster died in 1968. She leaves a son, Robert T. Lloyd of Augusta, Maine; a daughter, Cathe G. Flanagan of Marion, New York; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Besides her husband, Marie is predeceased by a daughter, Erika K. Foster; two brothers, Thomas J. and Nick R.C. Thompson; and two sisters, Susan M. and Ruth O’Neil.
Marie worked over twenty years for New York Carpenter’s Union as an accounting clerk and negotiator. She always maintained beautiful gardens and loved capturing nature through her photography.
A graveside service honoring Marie’s life will be held on 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at Airmont Lutheran Cemetery, Suffern, NY.
