Life Legacy
SHREWSBURY - Marilyn Griff Aaronson, of Shrewsbury and Aventura, FL, passed away at home among family on January 16, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Morris and Lillian Lipson Griff. Marilym is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mark Aaronson; his daughters, Ilana Aaronson Meyers and Stacey Aaronson Spirn; grandchildren, Chelsi, Garrick, Mackenzie, Paxton, Waverly, Skyler and Tegan; and her brothers; Sanford and Martin Griff and their children. Marilyn graduated from Classical High School and went on to attend Boston University. She worked for New England T&T and Worcester City Hospital. In Florida, she became involved in the Aventura community, serving as President of the Turnberry Isles Homeowners Association. She enjoyed being active and she was naturally athletically inclined. She excelled at skating, both snow and water skiing, and dancing. She loved being surrounded by the water in both Massachusetts and South Florida, boating in the Keys and Bimini. Creatively gifted, she could always be found knitting, cooking, and decorating. Friends and family were the lucky recipients of her handmade treasures and delicious dishes. She had the knack to make ordinary things look elegant whether it was in the home, out on the town or just going to Dana Farber in Framingham, where they waited to see what she was wearing and to hear her jokes and funny stories. She loved to entertain people with her sense of humor and funny anecdotes. Marilyn’s smile lit up the room, and everyone always appreciated her trademark honesty and candor. A passionate animal lover, she adored her dogs Kiku, Suki and Yaki. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Metro West Cancer Center, especially Dr. Seetharaman who always went above and beyond with her compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 17th at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be sent to Save a Dog at
