STERLING/FITCHBURG - Marilyn A. (Smith) Guillette, 81, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at CareOne at Concord. Marilyn was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of Ilda (Jarvi) and Francis Smith and graduated from Fitchburg High School. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Nelson Guillette in April, 2016. Marilyn is survived by her son , David Guillette and his wife, Patricia of Lunenburg; her daughters, Lynn Saltys and her husband, William of Sterling and Jane Smith and her husband, Robert of Arlington; her grandchildren, Christopher and Melanie Saltys, Danielle, DJ, Gabriella and Michaela Guillette, Ashley Sbordone and her husband, Anthony, Colin and Brendan Smith; and her two great grandchildren, Aubrie and Vincent Sbordone. Marilyn earned her LPN at the Gardner State Hospital School of Nursing and went on to work over 20 years at the former Fairlawn Nursing Home in Leominster. She and Nelson were married in 1956 and lived in Fitchburg before moving to Sterling over 15 years ago. She was an active member of Saint Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling. Marilyn had volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and loved traveling and sewing. Above all she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, April 9th at the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 10th at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling. Burial will be held privately at a later date at Hillside Cemetery, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Richard of Chichester Memorial Tree of Life, P.O.
