Marion Bevans Webster

Clinton / Acton – Marion Bevans Webster passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Rowland S. and Jean F. (Fallow) Bevans, and was raised in Morristown, New Jersey.

Marion was a graduate of Kent Place High School in Summit, New Jersey. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Marion did a variety of interesting work early in her career. She worked as a receptionist at Harvard University. She worked for the Parks Department in Brewster and coached Outward Bound programs on Thompson Island in Boston Harbor. She later served as an administrative aide for the homeschooling consulting group Holt Associates in Cambridge before devoting herself fully to her family as a homeschooling parent.

Marion had a warm, sensitive, and vibrant personality. She was active in support groups and often served as a mentor. She loved to witness and contribute to the happiness of others. In later years, Marion found great purpose in providing compassionate care to elders as a home health companion.

Marion was a gifted singer and musician. She had a beautiful, clear voice and played mandolin and guitar. She particularly loved playing bluegrass and folk music with her many musical friends in the local bluegrass community. She was a key member of various musical groups and gatherings over the years, delighting audiences with her lovely voice and notes from her mandolin in bands that included Triple Trio, Loose Ends, Still River, and Toosday Toons.Marion loved camping and the great outdoors and delighted in spending time at Crane Beach in Ipswich and walking the wooded trails of the Wachusett Reservoir.

Above all else, Marion cherished her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being a grandmother to Copley and Arden.

Marion will be lovingly missed and fondly remembered by her son, John Webster, and his wife, Julie, of Indianapolis, Indiana; her beloved grandchildren, Copley and Arden Webster; her devoted companion, Allen Pratt of Clinton; her brothers, Scott Bevans and his partner, Valerie Dykeman, of Sherman Oaks, California, and George Bevans of Milford, Pennsylvania; her sister, Carol Hunt and her husband, David, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her longtime friend, Ms. Andy Migner of Devens.

A celebration of life service will take place on March 21, 2026; details will be communicated shortly. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations in Marion’s name be made to 19 Carter, a community center where Marion previously performed, located at 19 Carter, Berlin, Massachusetts, 01503, or via their website.
