Marjorie R. Bernstein

WORCESTER - Marjorie R. (Burwick) Bernstein, age 83, died on Saturday, January 26th in Care Dimensions Hospice Home in Lincoln, MA. Her husband of 58 years, William E. Bernstein died in 2016.

She leaves two sons; Robert Bernstein and his wife Kristen, of Richmond Hill, GA and Richard Bernstein of Boston; a daughter, Laurie, wife of Dr. Carey Kimmelstiel of Framingham and four grandchildren; Dana and Matt Kimmelstiel and Carly and Charlie Bernstein. She was predeceased by her two brothers, John Burwick and Stephen Burwick.

She was born in Worcester, and was the daughter of Charles M. And Dorothy (Lerner) Burwick and was a lifelong resident.

She attended Boston University. She was a longtime member of Temple Emanuel Sinai and Mount Pleasant Country Club in Boylston.

For many years she spent summers in Yarmouth and winters in Palm Beach and in Boca Raton.

She volunteered and was active in a variety of political campaigns over the many years, long before her son’s involvement in politics. She was first and foremost a devoted mother and grandmother and cherished the times she spent entertaining large groups of family and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 AM ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST IN TEMPLE EMANUEL SINAI, 661 SALISBURY STREET, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’nai Brith Cemetery, Worcester.

Please omit Flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Care Dimensions Hospice Home, 125 Winter Street, Lincoln, MA 01773.

Immediately following the interment service, a Memorial Observance Reception will be held until 4:00 pm at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Memorial Observance will continue on Saturday, February 2nd, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the residence of Laurie and Carey Kimmelstiel.
