RUTLAND – Marjorie A. (Bigelow) MacCallum, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner after an illness.
Her husband of 57 years, James W. MacCallum, passed away in 2007. She leaves four sons, James W. MacCallum, Jr. of Worcester, Gary S. MacCallum of Fitchburg, Dennis R. MacCallum and his wife Susan of Holden and Jack S. MacCallum of Rutland; three daughters, Gail F. Christianson and her husband Carl of Rutland, Robin M. Jones and her fiancé David Campbell of Clinton and Abbie J. MacCallum of Leominster; a sister, Pauline Spencer of Arlington; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and cousins. Marjorie was predeceased by a brother, Robert Bigelow.
Marjorie was born in Holden, the daughter of L. Raymond, Jr. and Ailleen F. (Whitney) Bigelow and had lived in Rutland for most of her life. She was a bus driver for Mac-Mae Bus Company in Hubbardston for many years and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 19, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Mrs. MacCallum will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Rural Cemetery in Rutland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 484, Rutland, MA 01543 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
