April 22, 1959 — June 13, 2026

Hubbardston

Hubbardston - Mark A. Luthman passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13, 2026, at his home. Mark is the loving husband of Sandra (Tarkiainen) Luthman.

Born in Worcester, Mark is the son of the late Ronald and Gloria (Knight) Luthman. Mark grew up in Worcester, just a few houses down from his soon-to-be wife, Sandra. Mark attended Burncoat High School in Worcester and graduated in 1977. Mark then went on to receive his graduate degree from UMASS Amherst in Wildlife Biology.

Mark began working with his future father-in-law, initially in painting and landscaping before starting his own business in the industry. Mark later married Sandra in 1989 after already knowing each other for many years. Together, the two of them moved to Hubbardston, where they shared many years together.

Mark was an avid outdoorsman. He was known to be found outside. Whether hunting or fishing, he was a true lover of nature. Mark was a member of Ducks Unlimited, a conservation group focusing on sustainable hunting practices. He also became a mentor to many young men and women interested in the sport. He would take these aspiring hunters and teach them to hunt ethically and safely.

Mark will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sandra. Mark leaves behind his sister Kim Myles-Hedgepeth, in addition to his sister and brother-in-law, Paul and Cheryl Dennis. He also leaves behind his two nieces and nephews. Mark’s three hunting dogs will also miss adventures with their owner.
