WORCESTER - Mary Suzanne (Pelletier) Marois, of Venice, Florida, passed away on July 31, 2025 while visiting family in Massachusetts. Suzanne, as she was known by her family and friends, was born in Worcester to the late Ralph J. and Mary C. (Skahen) Pelletier on October 19, 1942.
She is survived by her sister, Jane E. (Pelletier) McTigue; her stepchildren, Melissa A. (Marois) Lopez and her husband Peter of California, and their children, Samantha, Julian, and Jacob; and Marc M. Marois of Arizona, and his children Mitchell, Skylar, Luke, and Brooklynn; her niece Melina (McTigue) Garland and her husband W. Scott; and her nephew Edward "Ned" McTigue III, all of Worcester; her aunt, Gretchen Pelletier of Webster; and many cousins from the Pelletier and Skahen sides. She is predeceased by her husband, Paul J. Marois (2005), and her brother-in-law, Edward V. McTigue Jr. (2020).
She graduated from Ascension High School in 1960. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Worcester State College and her Master's Degree from Cambridge College. After a short career at Worcester County National Bank, Suzanne pursued a career in teaching, first in the Berlin schools and then in the Wachusett Regional School District, where she taught at the Holden Junior High School, Jefferson Middle School, Mountview Middle School, and finally at Wachusett Regional High School from which she retired as the Curriculum Coordinator for the Humanities in 2004. Suzanne and Paul retired to Venice, Florida, where she was an active member of the community, volunteering at Venice Hospital and the Venice Friendship Center, along with golfing events such as the LPGA tour. She loved shopping, puzzles, reading, going to the beach, and going out to dinner with friends and neighbors near her Florida home, which was always open to friends and family.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, August 5th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden, MA. A funeral Service will be held the following day, Wednesday, August 6th at 10:00 AM at St. Columba Parish, 10 Richards Ave, Paxton. Burial to follow in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton.
