RUTLAND – Maureen F. (Henry) Loan, 86, beloved wife of Thomas, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late William and Leona (Guertin) Henry.

Maureen was a graduate of South High School. She went on to become a hairdresser until she left the profession to raise her family. She was an active member of St. Richards’s Parish in Sterling and Our Lady of Good Council in West Boylston as a CCD Teacher, Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Women’s Guild. She went on to continue her faith journey at St. Mary’s Parish in Jefferson. For many years, she was a dedicated member of the Daughters of Isabella at St Anne’s parish in Shrewsbury.

Maureen had many things that she loved, such as her flower gardens, her house plants, macrame, stained glass, and her love of sewing, shown by her creating beautiful outfits and prom gowns for her daughters over the years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a true “sun worshiper”. Each year, for 28 years, she enjoyed spending the winter months with Tom in Nokomis, FL with their snowbird community. When the ice broke on Lake Winnipesaukee, Maureen and Tom returned to their summer home in Moultonborough, NH. They enjoyed entertaining on the porch, sunsets, and boat rides. She was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage and took great pride in obtaining her citizenship.

She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband of 64 years, Thomas; her daughter Megan Catlin of Holden, her sons Tom and his wife Shiela of Rutland, Tim and his wife Penny of West Hampton CT and her daughter Mary Loan-Loftus and her husband Rich of Holden, seven grandchildren including Robert Catlin and his wife, Emma, Christopher Catlin and his wife, Elena, Kelley Anderson and her husband, Max, Riley Loan, Graysen Loan, Henry Loftus and Helen Loftus; two step-grandchildren, Katie Coulter and Shane Parker; and four great-grandchildren, Jaycee, Cole, Josephine and Nicholas. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joanne Letourneau.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Beacon Hospice for the kind and compassionate care, especially Stephanie, Gloria, and Sonya.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. for a calling hour on Saturday, March 21, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
