HOLDEN – Michael S. Paharik, 70, of Holden, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 5, 2025.
He was born on January 23, 1955, in Worcester, son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Kovaleski) Paharik. Mike grew up in Holden. He was a graduate of Worcester Academy, Class of 1973. After High School Mike attended Florida Institute of Technology and Worcester Polytechnical Institute in pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mike dedicated over 25 years to the family business, Allied Manufacturing Company, Inc, where he served as both Partner and Secretary. In retirement, Mike and his wife Joan operated JP Glass Design, a small stained-glass business.
In 1980, Mike met the love of his life Joan Hanc and they were married in 1987. Together, they shared 35 years of marriage.
Mike had many interests but especially enjoyed boating. He spent most summers living on Webster Lake at the Island. During that time Mike established relationships with many friends.
Mike was an avid golfer. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Country Club for several years. His favorite golf partner and best friend was Ben his father. In addition to golf Mike was a great snow skier. He perfected the parallel ski technique at an early age. He took trips to Lake Tahoe and skied at many New England Ski areas on a regular basis. Mike liked cards especially blackjack and would travel to Foxwoods with Joan.
Mike had an engineering mind. He could fix just about anything. If you needed advice on a project Mike always had a well thought out solution and the tools to fix it. Mike was a master at building things especially scale model classic cars, RC planes, and boats which he would spend many hours assembling.
Mike was a member of the Webster Lake Association and Delorean Owners Club.
Mike had a special place in his heart for Wire Fox Terriers which he owned several. He will be genuinely missed by his current four-legged friend Joanzee.
Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joan Paharik; his parents, Benjamin and Mary Paharik; his brother, Carl Paharik, and his nephew Michael J. Paharik.
Mike is survived by his brother, Kenneth Paharik Sr. and his wife, Gloria, of Holden; his nephews, Kenneth Paharik Jr. and his wife, Tracy, of Holden; Matthew Paharik and his wife, Jennifer, of West Boylston; and Benjamin Paharik and his wife, Sarah, of Hopkinton, Mark Paharik and his wife Emily of Worcester, Michael J. Paharik and his wife Eva of Lucas, TX along with great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Michael’s funeral service will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
