SOUTHBRIDGE

Michael C. Porter

SOUTHBRIDGE – Michael C. Porter, 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Lorraine (Bonnette) Porter.

After graduating from Shepherd Hill Regional High School, he went on to build a successful career in plumbing, eventually earning his master plumber’s license. Throughout his career, he worked as a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union No. 4 and as a self-employed business owner.

He was a devoted father and a tireless worker who took great pride in what he did. He was happiest when he was busy, whether working on a job, coordinating schedules, preparing bids, or lending a helping hand. Hard work was more than a responsibility to him; it was something he genuinely enjoyed. He took great pride in providing for his family, but no matter how busy life became, his children were always his first priority. They were his greatest love and proudest accomplishment.

When he wasn’t working, he was an avid card player who especially enjoyed blackjack. He loved being around people and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, whether an old friend or a complete stranger. He was always happy to share a story, a laugh, or simply enjoy the company of those around him.

He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his children including Beth Cass and her husband, Brandon of Barre and Guilia Herrick and her partner, Jeffrey Castellanos of Oakham, Michael Porter, Jr. of Gainsboro, TN, Joseph Porter of Fitchburg; 8 grandchildren, Taylah, Adalyn, Garrett, Nolan, William (Liam), Genevieve, Tanner and Luca; his girlfriend, Elaine Rondeau of Southbridge; two sisters, Edwina Lewandowski and her husband, Michael of Somerset and Valerie Krogul and her husband, Michael of CT; his brother, Marc Porter and his wife, Behrokh of CA; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Pikora of PA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Stephanie Pikora.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 8 at the Spencer Country Inn, 500 Main Street, Spencer. www.milesfuneralhome.com
