WORCESTER - Mildred S. “Mickey” Bennett, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at The Meadows in Rochdale.
Born in South Norfolk, Virginia, Mickey was the daughter of the late Alvah and Mary Lee (Cooper) Stewart. She was a graduate of Maury High School and began her career working for the City of Norfolk. It was during this time that she met and married the love of her life, David G. Bennett. Together, they moved first to Maryland and later to Massachusetts, where they made their home for more than four decades. They raised their family together and shared 48 years of marriage before David’s passing.
Mickey was a dedicated and hardworking woman who took great pride in her work. She was employed for 17 years by Dimitria Delights of Grafton, where she served as production line manager. Her natural ability to connect with others, her wonderful sense of humor, and her talent for keeping things running smoothly served her well in this role. Following her time at Dimitria Delights, Mickey worked for many years at Macy’s in Auburn at the cosmetics counter, where her warm personality and genuine interest in others made her a favorite among both colleagues and customers.
Throughout her life, Mickey enjoyed many interests, including reading, gardening, and following sports. Above all else, however, her greatest joy and source of pride was her family. She cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren and took great delight in watching her family grow and flourish.
Mickey is survived by her children, Jennifer Baker and her husband, Jeffrey, of Glen Allen, VA; David Bennett and his wife, Gail, of Bolingbrook, IL; and Jonathan Bennett and his wife, Nicole, of Paxton, MA; her beloved grandchildren, James and his wife, Esmerelda, Mark and his wife, Gianna, Grace and her fiancé, Wyatt Wegrzyn, Edward, and Joshua; her siblings, John Stewart and his wife, Emma Ruth, Lucy Gillens, and Mary Lou Stewart, and her husband, B. Alan Guthrie; and her brother-in-law, Dominic Ippolito. She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, David; and her siblings, Howard Stewart, Margaret Ippolito, and Robert Stewart.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather during a period of Calling Hours on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mickey’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
