LEOMINSTER – Ruth Mildred (Stoik) Mierswa, 90, of Leominster, formerly of Fairport, NY, died Friday, October 12, 2007, with her family by her side in Sunrise Assisted Living, after a long decline in her health. She had moved to Leominster to be near her son and daughter-in-law, so they could care for her.
She was born on April 4, 1917 in Rice Lake Wisconsin with two brothers and seven sisters. She graduated from Whitewater State Teachers College followed by post-graduate work in counseling at Northwestern University. She taught two years of high school where she met her husband, Richard, who was originally from Yakima, WA.
She leaves her son, Peter Otto Mierswa and his wife, Linda Clark of Sterling and Daniel D. Mierswa and his wife Jackie of Leesburg, FL; four grandchildren, Megan J. Mierswa, Laura Wrynn Marrone, Mark Mierswa, Chris Mierswa and wife Dawn; and great-granddaughters, Alyson and Emily. Her husband, Richard Darrel Mierswa, predeceased her in 1990 and her son, Richard Edward Mierswa, died in January of this year. She was an Astrologer who authored two books, Ray-Centered Astrology and Who You Are and Why You Are Here.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 24th, in the First Parish Church, 40 Church Street, Northboro. The family requests donations may be made to your local Hospice service. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, is directing arrangements.
