BOYLSTON - Myrtle L. (Tremblay) Thurston, 77, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She was born in Holden, the daughter of the late Norman and Edith (Shiraka) Tremblay.
Myrtle was raised in Jefferson and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and continued her education at Worcester State College, earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She worked as an educator at the Boylston Elementary School and then with the Tahanto Regional High School, where she spent many years as a Special Education Teacher. Myrtle enjoyed travelling and spending time with her close friends from work. She was a member of Saint Mary of the Hills Parish in Boylston.
She leaves her beloved husband of 54 years, Stuart C. Thurston, Jr., and her two children, Michael A. Thurston of Medway and Sally L. Thurston of Southbridge.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 11, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston. Burial plans will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Veterans Inc, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605, a cause very important to Myrtle. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
