Nancy Ann Mathieu

Rutland - Nancy Ann Mathieu, of Rutland, Massachusetts, passed away on August 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and woman of faith whose greatest joy was her family.

Nancy and her husband, Donald Mathieu, were married for 65 years. Most of this time was spent in Princeton at their beloved home where they hosted many gatherings with family and friends. She was well known for her baking. Her angel dogs, strawberry filled cookies, banana bread, and apple squares were enjoyed by many.

She was the loving mother of Robin Mathieu, Donald Mathieu Jr., Jody Cates, and Michelle Tavares. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom held a very special place in her heart.

Nancy's life was a ministry. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, which was a source of strength and comfort throughout her life; especially during the loss of her husband seven years ago. She was a faithful servant and volunteer; serving as a Eucharistic Minister at Notre Dame for over 30 years, hospice ministry, Problem Pregnancy counselor, and a lector at her church.

Nancy leaves behind a profound legacy of faith and devotion and will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of her family. May she rest peacefully in the arms of God, reunited with those who went before her, and may her memory remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:00AM – 10:30AM, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Miles Funeral Home, located at 1158 Main St., Holden, MA 01520. A Funeral Mass will follow, beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 258 Main St., Rutland, MA 01543. A committal service will take place at 12:30PM, at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton MA 01612.
