HOLDEN- Mildred N. Campbell, 85, of Holden, formerly of Oxford, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2008 after a long struggle with both Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia Canada on July 21, 1923, the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Parsons) Crocker and was one of 13 Siblings. Her beloved husband Charles A. Campbell died in 1975.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. For her entire life she dedicated every day to loving her family in every possible way. She was famous for her love, apple pie, and ability to play poker. She will be greatly missed and always remembered.
She is survived by her son Graham Campbell of Hudson, four grandsons and five great grandchildren: John and Amy Campbell and their children Travis and Chelsea of Worcester; Jeffery and Kiley Campbell and their children Nicholas, Gwyneth and Ethan of Worcester; Gavin and Jennifer Campbell of Wallingford, Connecticut; and Ian Campbell of Holden. She is also survived by her sisters Dorothy Quinton and Clarice Johnston and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition she is survived by her daughters-in-law, Bonnie J. Ross of Holden and Jean Sidlo of North Carolina. Her sister-in-law, Sylvia Campbell lives in Maine
Relatives and friends wishing to visit with the family are invited to attend a calling hour at 5 p.m. followed by a memorial service for Mrs. Campbell at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 28th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The celebrant for the service will be the Reverend Pamela Reidy. Burial will be Friday, August 29th, in North Cemetery, Oxford. The family is grateful that she is finally at peace and expresses its appreciation to the entire staff of Holden Nursing Home for their care.
