MARLBOROUGH/HOLDEN – Olive M. (Roy) Thuot, 87, formerly of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at her home in Marlborough in the presence of her loving family on Friday, March 8, 2013, after an illness. Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, and one of seven children, Olive was the daughter of Ernest and Blanche (Thuot) Roy, and lived 36 years in Jefferson before moving to Marlborough to live with her daughter in 2001.
Her husband of 47 years, Roger H. Thuot, died in 1994. She is survived by two sons, Rene J. Thuot and his wife Kathleen of Worcester and Robert F. Thuot of Charlton; two daughters, Suzanne S. DesRosiers and her husband Edward of Boston and Denise C. DeAmicis and her husband Alan of Marlborough; a sister, Gilberte Rousseau of Verdun, Canada; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her other sisters and brothers.
Olive was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. She worked at ECC Corporation in Jefferson for 12 years, retiring in 1990; and enjoyed cooking and baking all of the desserts, which she considered her labor of love, at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center until the age of 82.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, Development Office, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
