WEST BOYLSTON – Patricia J. (Fuller) Gordon, of Sterling St., died peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2008, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, in the Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester, where she had received the utmost compassion and care.
She sadly leaves her best friend and loving husband of 47 years, Herbert O. Gordon; along with her two devoted sons and their families: Thomas P. Gordon and his wife Donnarae and their children, Pat's two adoring grandchildren, Matthew T. and Ryan J. Gordon of West Boylston with whom she and her husband Herb resided with happily these past four years; and her loving son, Jeffrey S. Gordon and his wife Monique of Rutland. She also leaves her step-father, Charlie A. Campbell formerly of Rutland now residing in Nolanville, TX; three step-sisters, Susan Robison and Janice Campbell of TX and Donna Tuttle of NY; her aunt "sister" Dorothy L. Butkevich of Worcester; her uncle, Allison M. Cocker, Jr. and his wife Vera of NY; her aunt, Janet Cocker of Paxton; her uncle, Anthony Vincequere of Worcester; her brother and sister-in-laws, Bertha Kackiela and Rose Gordon of Worcester, Violet Gordon of West Boylston and Robert Gordon and his wife Catherine of Shrewsbury; her father, Robert L. Fuller; and 9 half brothers and sisters. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was sadly predeceased by her mother, Shirley A. (Cocker) Fuller Campbell and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allison M. Cocker, Sr., with whom she and her mom lived with along with 5 of her 7 aunts and uncles – considered brothers and sisters: Donald E. Cocker, Harold E. Cocker, Robert A. Cocker, Jean O'Clair & Phyllis J. "Sue" Vincequere.
Pat was born in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School. She married at Greendale Peoples Church in Worcester on Sep. 2, 1961. She worked for many years as an account clerk at Central Oil and for the last 17 years at Upper Blackstone Valley Water Treatment Plant in Millbury. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed cards, cribbage and the casino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 30th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral service for Pat will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 31st, in the Christ Lutheran Church, 112 Crescent Street, West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Church Street, West Boylston. Flowers may be sent or donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
