Paul H. Janowicz

STERLING – Paul H. Janowicz, 74, passed away on April 27, 2026.

Paul was born in Worcester, MA the youngest of three sons to Walter and Emily (Grigas) Janowicz. He grew up on the family dairy farm where he developed a strong work ethic that he carried throughout his life. He attended Leominster Trade School where he learned drafting, laying the foundation of his construction career.

Once he graduated, he entered the construction trade and after a few years joined his brother Wally in the excavating business. A hardworking man by nature, Paul was the third generation on the family farm in Sterling. Driving his International tractors, he could be found in their fields haying all summer alongside his brother Wally. While co-owning and operating Janowicz Construction, their quality of work resulted in a business that thrived for over 50 years. His strength and dedication were unmatched. He will always be remembered saying, “keep smiling” as he bid farewell to family and friends.

Paul leaves behind his brother Walter M. Janowicz of Sterling; his nephew Michael Janowicz and his wife Jennifer of Royalston MA; their children, Michael, Mikayla, Emma, Anna, and Elaina; a niece Laura Poll and her husband Robert of NYC; and sister in law Patricia Janowicz.

He is preceded in death by his brother Edward Janowicz in 2022 and parents, Walter and Emily.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 5th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A funeral service will be celebrated the following day, Wednesday, May 6th at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Parker Road in Lancaster. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
