WEST BOYLSTON – Phillip P. Shubert, 71, of West Boylston, passed away on July 21, 2025, at Massachusetts General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on October 17, 1953, in Worcester to the late Paul and Marcia (Buck) Shubert. Phillip grew up locally and graduated from West Boylston High School.
He met the love of his life, Linda Skalin, and they married in the summer of 1981. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their children, Lisa and Joe.
Phillip worked for many years as a welder mechanic for Paquette Concrete, where he was known for his strong work ethic and creative, outside-the-box thinking for fixing things. Outside of work, he enjoyed hiking, gardening, and fishing, and could often be found spending treasured time with his family and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Marcia Shubert; his sister, Sally Shubert; and his beloved canine companion, Cameron MackNair.
Phillip is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Shubert of West Boylston; his daughter, Lisa MackNair, and her husband, Andrew MackNair, of Southborough; his son, Joseph Shubert of Lowell; his grandchildren, Gabriel and Lucas MackNair of Southborough; his brother, Joseph Shubert of Palo Alto, CA; his beloved canine companion, Ginger Macknair, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, MA. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at High Plains Cemetery in West Boylston.
