HOLDEN - Phyllis (Power) Barrett of Holden, Massachusetts died peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital on January 17, 2022 at age 93 after a brief illness.

She is survived by her son, Bill, daughter-in-law, Erin, of Harvard, Massachusetts, her sister-in-law, Gloria Power of Downingtown, PA, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved grand dogs Zara, Rocket, and Lily. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, who passed away in 1954, her parents, Richard and Elizabeth (LaMarche) Power, and twin brother, Richard (Dick) Power.

Phyllis was born and raised in Worcester. She attended South High School and Becker Jr. College and completed an executive course of studies at Radcliffe College. She lived in Holden for 66 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Parish during that time. Phyllis was a lifelong Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and other outdoor activities. Phyllis also loved to travel to see friends in California and Colorado and regularly enjoyed “wine o’clock” with her neighbors and friends. She lived independently until her final illness and was particularly proud of her yard and gardens, despite her ongoing battle against violets in her lawn.

There are no calling hours and the burial service will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester.
