PRINCETON – Josephine R. (Ippolito) Carbone, 89, of Princeton died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 4, 2007 in Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, West Boylston, after an illness.
Her husband, Cosmo A. Carbone, died in 1987. She leaves her daughter, Carol A. Sawyer and her husband Charles Antul of Princeton; two brothers, Dante Ippolito of Norwell and Raymond Ippolito of Los Angeles, California; two grandchildren, Christopher Sawyer of Jamaica Plain and Shannon Blomstrom and her husband Rich of East Hampton; two great-grandchildren, Sydney and Emma Blomstrom of East Hampton; and extended family, Kenneth Antul and his wife Dawn of Berkley and Brian Antul and his wife Diana and their children Connor and Caitlyn of Hubbardston. A sister, Yolanda Ippolito, and a brother, Joseph Ippolito, predeceased her. She was born and raised in Lawrence, the daughter of Frank and Albina (Luchessi) Ippolito, and lived 23 years in Holden and 29 years in Princeton.
Mrs. Carbone worked at Denholm and McKay Department Store as a buyer for 25 years and later at American Supply Co. and Marcus Co., both in Worcester. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, fashion design, and discussing politics.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, October 8th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton.
