Robert A. Enman

HOLDEN – Robert A. Enman, Jr., 74, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – Memorial Campus after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Susan E. (Courtney) Enman; a son, David A. Enman and his wife Alison of Holden; two daughters, Maggie A. Whitney and her husband Donald of Winchendon and Christine M. Mathieu of Moosup, Ct; a sister, Miriam Bove of Auburn; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Army E2 Agustus, Benjamin, Joshua and Anthony; a nephew, Frank Bove and a niece, Deborah Courtney, both of Auburn.

Robert was born in Worcester, the son of Robert A. and Virginia E. (Hopkins) Enman and had lived in Holden the past 39 years. He graduated from South High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army. After leaving the service, he graduated from Fitchburg State College with a degree in Industrial Arts, Worcester State College with a degree in Education and then received his CAGS from Boston University. He was an administrator and professor at Quinsigamond Community College for 40 years. Previously, he taught industrial arts at Shrewsbury Jr. and Sr. High School and at Natick High School. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the MTA and the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mr. Enman will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520. A private committal service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or Matthew 25, 52 Queen Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
