DOUGLAS - Robert H. Harrington, Jr., age 77, beloved husband of Lorraine M (Henault) Harrington for 42 years, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026. Bob was born and raised in Holden MA, the son of Robert H. Harrington and Ethel (Larm) Harrington. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School. 

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine; his daughter, Kaitlyn C. Harrington and grandson, Cayden R. Harrington of Putnam, CT; his sister, Marilyn E. Harrington of Rutland, MA, his brothers, Charles T. Harrington and wife Debra of Sedro Wooley, WA, and Stephen O. Harrington of Jefferson, MA; his nephews, Michael J Harrington, of Lakeland, FL and Mason Harrington of Seatle, WA; and cousins in Maine and Ohio. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother Richard D. Harrington and his cousin Jonathan O. Phelps. 

Bob began his professional career at Worcester Controls in West Boylston where he began his lifelong career in their IT Department. From there he worked for Worcester County National Bank in their IT Department. Then through many years of acquisitions and mergers ended his career as a Vice President in the IT department of a major bank in 2015. Bob had many lifelong hobbies and activities. He was an avid gardener all his life and loved his flowers and propagating plants for springtime planting. Bob also had a lifelong interest in building and flying model airplanes initially and later building and launching model rockets. 

He was a lifelong member of NAR and AMA and a lifelong fan and member of NHRA. He was thrilled when the NHRA came back to Epping NH and he enthusiastically went to the races from 2014 through 2019. He also enjoyed fishing and ice fishing for many years. He was a devoted Bruins fan with season tickets for a couple of years when Bobby Orr played. He enjoyed playing cards, cooking and building plastic and wooden models, painting miniature models. He was also very intuitive with electronics. He had a lifelong love for his cats and his dog, Jed. His joy was finally buying his custom 2022 6 speed Camaro convertible.

Family and friends will gather to honor Bob’s memory at Calling Hours from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 26th at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
