WORCESTER - It is with joy for a life well lived, and sadness for his loss that we share the passing of our dad and papa, Bob who was reunited with the love of his life, Janet (Lowe) on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2026.
He was known as a true family man, enjoying trips to our camp on Thompson pond to fish with his kids, family vacations at Hampton Beach that always included not only his six children but also their friends and friends of friends. The end of a perfect beach day would include a half and half fried clam and "real" scallop platter or Sheppard's pie at Logan's Run. Bob always enjoyed having a house full of people, especially on Sundays. Many years ago he built an impressive bar, "The Bombshell", to host the Patriots games for all to enjoy. A special thanks to the Pats for treating him to one more Super bowl!
He also found great pleasure in spending time in his yard watching the birds that always seemed to know when he would be filling all of the feeders around the yard. In the nice weather, you could find him tending to the gardens that he had planted and loved, always making sure the yard looked beautiful. When his work was done, another great pleasure was sitting on his swing listening to the oldies, he knew them all and has a great reputation for his renditions of his favorite Chicago tunes.
Bob served time in the United States Army, stationed in Germany in the mid 60's. He was proud to be a member of the shooting team earning awards for marksman and sharp shooter.
Bob retired after working many years in the Forge shop at Wyman Gordon in Grafton where he was affectionately known as Powwow. After a week or so of retirement, he joined Jan, driving a student van for Van Pool Co.
Bob was born on February 16th 1939, he grew up Worcester, the son of the late Sanfrid and Elsie (Carlson) Holm. He was predeceased by his siblings John and Harold Holm, Dagny Carlsen.
He leaves his children Danny (Marsha), Lori Lauria (Paul), Michael, Traci Robidoux (Juan), Bob jr. (Bridey) and William (Shaye). Also his treasured 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited are invited to gather at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 19th. A prayer service will follow at 12:00 PM before going to Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton for burial.
