Life Legacy
PAXTON – Roger A. Mann, 61, formerly of Rutland, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side on Monday, January 30, 2017 after an illness. Born in Gardner and raised in Rutland, Roger was the son of the late Ronald Mann and Sylvia M. (Luukko) Mann Rotti and lived the last 29 years in Paxton. Roger was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and attended Worcester State College. He passionately enjoyed his chosen career as an automotive mechanic. He worked for several local automotive dealerships before becoming self employed for the last 25 years. His unique style and personable demeanor made him a well respected peacekeeper in several entertainment venues in the Worcester area for 10 years. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed the company of his dogs, going fishing, and was always available to help friends and family.He had a heart of gold and was a devoted husband, son, brother and uncle. He will be affectionately missed and remembered by his wife of 29 years, Gail V. (Arlin) Mann; two brothers, Larry S. Mann of West Hurley, NY and Gary T. Mann of Oakham; his sister, Cynthia C. Safford of Rutland; step-sisters, Heidi Merritt of Bernardston, MA and Sandi Castine of Colrain, MA; and several nephews and nieces. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Roger’s family from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, February 11, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a service honoring and celebrating his life at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Rd., East Brookfield, MA 01515.
