Biography
WORCESTER – Ronald B. Greenberg, 79, of Spencer, formerly of Worcester, died on Friday, October 2, 2015 in the Jewish Healthcare Center.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Ann (Goldberg) Greenberg; three sons, Jeffrey Greenberg, and his wife Beth of Worcester, Michael Greenberg, and his wife Melinda of Bedford, MA, and David Greenberg, and his wife Stephanie of Swapscott; and six grandchildren, Brad, Gennifer, Eliza, and Samuel Greenberg, and Lev and Nathaniel Macht-Greenberg.

He was born in Boston, the son of Robert and Helen (Nyer) Greenberg and had lived most of his life in Worcester before moving to Spencer 10 years ago.

He graduated from Boston Latin School and received a Bachelor’s degree and a Masters degree in organic chemistry from Northeastern University.

He was a research chemist for American Optical Company where he developed a patent for an abrasion resistant optical coating. He was a research manager at the Kendall Co. which is now International Paper where he developed a patent for battery separation. He was an innovator in the development of non-woven textiles for numerous applications.

He was a long term member of Temple Emanuel.

GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11AM ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4TH IN B’NAI BRITH CEMETERY ON ST. JOHN’S ROAD IN WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOMEOF HOLDEN.

Memorial Observance will be held until 5PM on Sunday, October 4th at the residence of Jeffrey and Beth Greenberg, at 36 Farnum Street, Worcester.

Please omit flowers.
