Ronald W. Lutz

June 12, 1940 — September 10, 2015

HOLDEN – Ronald W. Lutz, 75, of Holden, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. Born and raised in Rockville, Connecticut, Ron was the son of Wilfred A. and Doris A (Tennstedt) Lutz, and lived several years in Williamstown before moving to Holden in 1968.



Ron graduated from Rockville High School in 1958. He continued his education at University of Connecticut where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) and went on to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he received his Master’s degree in EE. He worked over 30 years at Allegro MicroSystems (Sprague Electric) where he held multiple positions, including Design Manager, Marketing Manager and Director of Automotive Products before retiring in 2001.



He was a former member of the Union Congregational Church in Rockville, CT. Ron enjoyed spending summers at his cottage on Frye Island, ME, visiting the coast of Maine and traveling. Above all else, he loved spending time with his four grandchildren.



He leaves his wife of 53 years, Jean M. (Cornell) Lutz; a son, Steven R. Lutz and his wife, Elise of Charlton; a daughter, Debora J. Blunt and her husband, Christopher of South Berwick, ME; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Caroline Lutz, and Allison and Andrew Blunt; and a sister, Gail and her husband, David of Tolland, CT.



Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Lutz Family Memorial Fund, PO Box 222, Holden, MA 01520. Funds will be used toward the dedication of a memorial bench to be placed on Frye Island, ME overlooking Sebago Lake in his honor.
