Ruth M. (Longvall) Knott

PAXTON – Ruth M. (Longvall) Knott, 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Stanley R. Tippett Home in Needham after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Henry O. and Mary E. (Beatty) Longvall and graduated from Classical High School and the Salter Secretarial School.
Her loving husband of 48 years, Frederick W. Knott, passed away in 1996. She leaves two sons, David S. Knott and his wife, Donna of Medfield and Stephen F. Knott and his wife, Maryanne of Canton; and three grandchildren, Brian, Amy and Maura.
Ruth was a secretary for several years at the Lawrence R. McCoy Company in Worcester and she volunteered as a teacher's aide at Paxton Center School. She was a former member of St. Columba Church and the Paxton Women’s Club.
A private funeral service will be held at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a committal service at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Ave., Paxton, MA 01612; or the Stanley R. Tippett Home, 920 South Street, Needham, MA 02492.
