FITCHBURG - Sangiwa Eliamani lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love. A man who embraced the world with open arms, he travelled far and wide, always seeking new experiences and connections. His journey was rich and vibrant until cancer cut his life short at the age of 63.
On November 25, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family in the comfort of his home, Sangiwa closed his eyes and took his final breath just as he had always wished. His passing was peaceful, yet deeply felt by all who knew him. "Blessed are they that rest in the Lord."
This year brought unimaginable sorrow to the Eliamani family. Just months earlier, on August 26, 2025, Sangiwa's mother also departed this world. From a family of five, only three remain: his father, Kachua Eliamani, and his brothers, Alvin and Saburi. Yet, through the years, the family grew in love and numbers. His devoted wife of 28 years (Edna), his cherished daughter (Nankware), his beloved son (Kachua), his sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and a wide circle of relatives and friends who now carry his memory forward.
Sangiwa's passions were simple yet profound: people, music, and shamba (the farm). He had an extraordinary gift for making everyone he met feel valued and special. His smile was contagious, his humor uplifting. Even in the face of cancer, he fought with courage and grace, reminding us daily that hope and laughter can outlast any diagnosis.
His absence will be deeply felt by the communities he touched: Leominster, New England Umoja, TAUS, Lancaster Farmers Association, the schools and colleges that shaped his life, including Parane Secondary School, Spicer Memorial College, Northern Caribbean University, Montemorelos University and many other communities where his blessed feet trod.
Sangiwa's legacy is one of resilience, kindness, and joy. Though his earthly journey has ended, his legacy lives on in every life he touches.
"ALUTA CONTINUA!" Sangi would say, the fight must go on!
"Blessed are they that rest in the Lord...For their good deeds follow them" (Revelation 14:13)
