WORCESTER - Shawn M. Schnare, 36, passed away suddenly on Sunday May 4th, 2025, in his hometown of Worcester, MA. He leaves his wife Caitlyn Schnare; his beautiful sons Shawn, Jr. and Roman of Worcester and his beloved pup, Buddy; his brother Dino Schnare and wife Melissa of Holden, MA and his brother Dominic Schnare and his companion Courtney of Sturbridge, MA. He also leaves behind his loving niece and nephew Jayden and Gabriella, both of Holden; and his paternal Grandfather David Schnare and loving Aunt Renee Little and her husband, Thomas. He is predeceased by his parents, Wayne Schnare, Sr. and Kathryn (Gambaccini) Schnare. He also leaves behind many extended family members that include aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. We also would like to acknowledge Jim and Amber Damuni of Worcester who were like second parents to Shawn. They created many memories for him within his youth and young adult life; their impact on him was profound.
Shawn grew up in Worcester and was a very gifted athlete. Starting his football journey with the Worcester Cowboys where he flourished on both sides of the ball playing both offense and defense. He would go on to play at Worcester Voke where he easily made the Varsity team and was even being scouted as a sophomore. Shawn was strong, fierce and fearless both on and off the field. Some of his other passions in his youth were skateboarding, surfing, dirt bike riding and anything else that involved a thrill. Shawn very rarely shied away from anything, always willing to try a new thing.
Shawn became a young Father where those passions were further exhibited through his teachings within his sons. He was a protector, with the heart of a warrior. Those who truly knew him looked up to Shawn for his bravery, courage, humor and his quick wit. We will hold the memories of the summers on Cape Cod, days at the pool with his sons, cookouts at his Grandparents house on “the pond” in Spencer, where many memories of joy and simpler times are cemented in his history. Amidst the sudden loss of Shawn, we chose to remember him for who he was at his core. A sweet, funny, loyal, strong, and brave man. He will be missed by many, and may God rest his soul. He is at peace.
Honoring the wishes of Shawn’s family, all services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
We love you, Shawn!
