AYER - Sheila Brenda Slarskey, aged 83, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Born on August 13, 1942, to Ida (Rood) Slarskey and Louis Slarskey, and raised in Ayer, Massachusetts, Sheila was a proud lifelong resident of her hometown and a graduate of Ayer High School. She began her career in banking at North Middlesex Savings Bank before advancing to Head Teller at Rollstone Bank. She later transitioned into the financial services industry, where she worked as a Financial Analyst for Digital and Fidelity Investments, earning the respect of colleagues through her dedication and professionalism.

Sheila embraced life with enthusiasm and found great joy in traveling. One of her favorite places was her home in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she loved spending time soaking up the sunshine and relaxing by the beach. A devoted Boston Red Sox fan, she rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on her favorite team.

Above all else, Sheila’s greatest joy was her family. She fiercely loved her niece and nephew, and her grandnieces and grandnephews brought immeasurable happiness to her life. She was a strong, independent woman whose caring heart and steadfast love made her an extraordinary sister, aunt, and friend. She treasured the time she spent with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Sheila is survived by her beloved sister, Barbara Slarskey Bottino and husband, John Bottino; her nephew, John Bottino II, his wife, Marsha Dufort Bottino, and their children, Jason Bottino and Katie Bottino; and her niece, Rachel Bottino O’Boyle, her husband, Matthew O’Boyle, and their children, Chet O’Boyle and Alice O’Boyle.

Sheila will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous spirit, love for her family, and the lasting impact she made on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Family and friends will gather to honor Sheila’s memory at her Funeral Service at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Miles – Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Interment will follow at Agudas Achim Cemetery, 320 Rollstone Road, Fitchburg.
