HOLDEN - Sheila Wykes, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2025.
Born in Jefferson, Massachusetts, on October 7, 1930, Sheila made Holden her home throughout her entire life. She graduated from Holden High School in 1949 and went on to attend Becker Junior College. Sheila built a fulfilling career as an executive secretary for Saul Marcus at Marcus Department Store in downtown Worcester and later worked as a sales clerk at Jordan Marsh Department Store.
A devoted parishioner at St. George's Church, Sheila was also an active member of the Holden Senior Center, where she found great joy in serving as a pen pal to local students. She took deep pride in her Irish heritage and cherished the companionship of the many beloved pets she cared for throughout her life.
Sheila is survived by her brother, James Dickman; her daughters, Diane Siemaszko of Holden and Carol Leslie and her husband Mark of Worcester; her grandchildren, Thomas Siemaszko of Waltham, Lisa Siemaszko and her husband Brian Macauley of Groton, and Johanna Leslie of Orono, Maine; her great-grandchildren, Harrison and Harper Macauley of Groton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Wykes; her son, Michael Morris; her son-in-law, Richard Siemaszko; her sisters, Blanche Skillings and Jean Harrington; and her brother, John Dickman Jr..
Calling hours will be held at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden on Monday, December 15th from 9:00 - 10:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. George's Church, 40 Brattle Street in Worcester. Interment will be private in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sheila's memory to the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH).
